We are looking for participants age 60 years of age and older, to take part in a research project. We are collecting oral histories of people’s experiences living and working in Corner Brook or the surrounding communities. You don’t need to be a local history buff. We are interested in your unique memories and personal point of view.
We would like to record an interview with you about your own experiences, your childhood, your family or your occupation. We are particularly interested in individuals who have some connection to the Pulp and Paper Mill and its related industries. The recorded interview and a transcription will be stored in a publicly accessible online archive for use by future researchers interested in the history and people of Corner Brook. If you have any family photographs or documents that you would like to share, we would like to make digital copies to include in the archive, and possibly use in publications.
Interviews are typically 30 to 60 minutes, but there is no set time limit. We are happy to conduct the interview in smaller chunks, over multiple sessions as well. To make it easy for you, we can conduct the interview in your home anywhere in the Bay of Islands.
Please contact us to set-up an interview: jbodner@grenfell.mun.ca or (709) 638-9191.
